The Treasury Department has announced its intent to extend the tax return filing deadline from the original due date of April 15, 2020 to July 15, 2020*. This announcement follows the recent guidance which extended the due date for income tax payments. As a result of this recent announcement, both filing and payment due dates are July 15, 2020.
We expect further details to be made available by the IRS in the coming days and we will communicate additional developments as information is released. Further, we will continue to monitor each state’s reaction to the federal extension and will provide updates as they become available.
